Kent County Championship Report

Kent County Swimming Championships

The County Championships are one of the highlights of every season and first step on the Championship ladder. Swimmers get to compete against the best in Kent.

This year we had 42 swimmers from Silver, Gold, Junior Development, Senior Development 1 & 2 representing BL. From 254 events, our swimmers achieved 108 top 8 finishes and won 32 medals. 20 swimmers reached the finals and 8 swimmers won all our 32 medals. Our swimmers achieved 260 LC PBs which is an incredible 90% conversion from all swims.

Well done to all first time qualifiers, finalists or medallists achieving this new standard on their swimming journey.

Congratulations to all our finalists who helped the club score a fantastic 453.5 points (70 points more than last year). The swimmers were:

SD1: Albert, Isabella, Holly, Mia, Chloe, Kieran, Callum, Luke, Charlotte, Nikita, Jack

SD2: Angel, Grace

JD: George, Danielle, Maddison, Ethan, Oscar

Gold: Cara

Silver: Justin

George (11 yrs category) had a championship of his life winning 9 medals, 6 of them Gold. George also placed top 8 in 11 events, and was our biggest scorer with 75 points. Not far behind were Mia with 7 medals and 71 points, and Albert with 5 medals and 74 points.

Our other medallists were:

Charlotte (3), Chloe (3), Kieran (2), Callum (2), Danielle (1)

This was our best Championship since 2010 and we hope to inspire more swimmers to work hard and strive to compete at this level. Thanks goes to all the coaches for their hard work and excellent preparation of their swimmers to achieve this result.
