University of Greenwich announced as Principal Sponsor of BLSC for 2019/20 season

We are thrilled to announce the University of Greenwich will be our Principal Sponsor for the new, and what proposes to be a very exciting, 19/20 season.   

The University of Greenwich was the first to establish a campus at Chatham Maritime back in 1994, as part of the Medway economic development strategy, and was later joined by two Kent universities. Medway is now the home for its Faculty of Engineering and Science and selected programmes from the Faculty of Education and Health, with extensive new laboratories and research facilitates. Its community of students ranges from undergraduate, including Foundation courses, through to Masters and PhDs. Their strong international reputation attracts students from around the world and they currently have students from more than 170 countries studying here.

The universities share many other facilities on the campus including the Drill Hall Library, the Pilkington Building and the new £5 million Student Hub, a state-of-the-art student centre ‘The Deep End’ which opened in 2017 - in the old Naval Swimming Pool!

It is through sponsorship and investments that BLSC’s vision to be a leading swimming centre of excellence is supported.  To receive such a prestigious Principal sponsorship from the University of Greenwich, a key driver in the Medway community, provides us with the optimal platform to engage in and create opportunities for the future.  

Due to the University’s generosity the club has immediately benefited from this new partnership with the financial support to purchase new, innovative training equipment in the form of underwater mirrors from @finisswim @finisuk transforming our swim training and coaching of all squads going forwards.  

We are very excited to see the development of this new partnership evolve over the coming year and all the opportunities that will be available for everyone.
